Zinstall Solution
Zinstall solves the conflict of interests by providing the IT with a smooth, hassle-free way to perform the migration, and making the post-migration user experience intuitive and comfortable for the end user.
The end result of the migration is 2 "TV channels", or desktops, on 1 PC. One "channel" is the new OS, with its new features, new applications and new look and feel. The other "channel" is the old, familiar desktop, with the entire user habitat preserved, and a look and feel which is identical to the user's old, familiar environment.
The unique benefit of Zinstall is the confidence - that all the legacy applications are fully operational, no data was left behind, and the system looks exactly as the users' old PC.
Once the migration is done, the old PC can be discarded without looking back. You will not receive complaints about missing files, incompatible applications, or users not knowing how to work in the new environment.

Zinstall approach avoids the migration pitfalls
We have mentioned the main migration pitfalls above. How does the Zinstall solution avoid those pitfalls?
1. Software conflicts and incompatibility becomes a non-issue:
All the applications from the old system run on the "old desktop" on the new PC. From the applications' point of view, they are still running in the same environment, removing the possibility of software incompatibility. As for conflicts - since all the old applications are contained inside the Zinstall container, they do not interfere with the new applications installed on the new OS. In fact, there is no problem running different versions of MS Office at the same time!
2. Data loss is prevented by taking the entire old system:
Zinstall takes all the data present on the old system - except for system data known to be redundant. Thus, we make sure that no file is ever left behind, and give the user real confidence that the old PC is no longer needed - there is no way anything was forgotten on it.
3. Changes in user environment and system look and feel:
By providing a desktop which shows the old OS exactly as it was on the old PC, the user can really feel at home. With a single click, he can go to his "comfort zone" on his newly upgraded PC. All the applications are there, all the data, everything works exactly as expected. So if the user doesn't know how to use that new Outlook, the old, familiar one is always there - ready for productive use.
