Will it work with Windows 11? 10?
Yes, Windows 11 and Windows 10 are fully supported, as well as Windows 8.1, 8 and 7.
Do I have to configure anything?
No. Install it, run it, done. FullBack chooses the backup locations, schedules itself, keeps the backup up to date and tests it regularly. There is nothing to babysit, and no tech skills are needed.
Where is my backup stored?
In the Cloud, automatically - and, if you plug in a USB drive or have a network drive, on that drive as well, at the same time. The local copy gives you fast recovery; the Cloud copy keeps you safe if something happens to your computer, your drive, or your home.
What happens if my computer breaks, is stolen or won't turn on?
You restore everything - programs, settings, accounts and all files - to a new or repaired computer, from the Cloud or from your local drive. You can restore to a different Windows version and different hardware, for example a backup of a Windows 10 Dell desktop onto a new Windows 11 HP laptop. (Similar to insurance, there is a 30-day initial waiting period from sign-up until you can do a full restore, to ensure fair use. If you just need to move to a new computer, use our transfer software.)
What happens in a ransomware attack?
With FullBack, you simply reset your Windows back to factory settings, and restore your programs and data from backup. No need to negotiate with or pay the hackers. Your file history goes back a full year, so you can restore from before the attack.
Who can see my files?
Only you. Your files are encrypted on your computer before they are uploaded, and only you hold the key. Neither Zinstall nor the Cloud data center can view or access them.
How long are old versions of my files kept?
For a full year. You can restore any earlier version of a file from the past 12 months - for example, a document the way it was two days ago, before it was damaged or overwritten. Forever storage is available as an option at an additional cost.
Can I get to my files from my phone or another computer?
Yes. You can access your backed-up files from your phone or from any other computer, wherever you are.
Will the backup slow down my computer?
No. FullBack runs in the background without interfering with your work, and uses your internet connection intelligently, so that background uploads never get in your way.
What if my backup stops running?
You'll know. If your backup stops getting updated for any reason - the computer is off, someone disabled or uninstalled the app, anything - FullBack notifies you, instead of you finding out during a disaster that the backup is months old. This also works if you manage the backups of family members.
