How To Transfer Everything from Old Computer to New Computer with Windows 12
Getting a new computer with Windows 12? The new machine is fast and shiny – but everything you actually use is still on the old one: your programs, documents, music, pictures, favorites, emails, accounts, passwords, profiles and settings. Here is how to transfer all of it.
What transfers by itself – and what doesn’t
Signing into your Microsoft account on the new Windows 12 computer brings some settings and OneDrive files. It does not bring your programs, most of your data, your accounts in other apps, or the way your computer is set up. A new Windows version does not change that – nothing moves to a new computer by itself.
Automatic transfer to Windows 12
The easiest way to transfer everything to a new computer is to use a dedicated transfer tool – Zinstall WinWin. Zinstall transfers between any two Windows versions – including from Windows 11 or Windows 10 to Windows 12.
It transfers your applications, profiles, accounts, personalization and all of your files – automatically. Apps arrive installed and configured, just like on the old computer.
How to transfer everything to the Windows 12 computer
- Run Zinstall WinWin on your current computer (the one you are transferring from).

- You don’t need to do any configurations for the computers to connect – it’s automatic
- If the computers are already connect to same router, same Internet connection, or same wireless connection, you don’t need anything else
- If the computers are not connected at all, connect them with a network / Ethernet cable
- If you’d like to select which applications and files you want to transfer, press the Advanced menu. If you just want to transfer everything, you don’t need to go to the Advanced menu.
- Press “Go” on the new Windows 12 computer to start the transfer
That’s it!
Once the transfer is done, everything will be on the new Windows 12 computer – your programs, settings, accounts and all your files, just like on the old one.
The new computer will feel just like home.
