My transfer has completed, but old emails did not show up in new Outlook. What do I do now?

If you need to transfer Outlook profile, emails, calendar, accounts etc. from one computer to another, it is important to make sure that the new computer’s Outlook does not already have a profile configured.

If it does (i.e., if you’ve opened Outlook on the new computer and follow its configuration wizard), Outlook will then block your old profile from getting transferred, so even after a full migration, you’ll still see the new (blank) Outlook profile on the new computer.

Here is how to delete the new Outlook profile, so that it can be replaced with the old one:

WARNING: This will erase and delete all existing accounts and emails on the NEW computer. Only do this if that’s OK!)

    1. On the NEW computer, close Outlook
    2. On the NEW computer, open regedit:
      1. Right click on Start menu, and select Run
      2. Type in following and press Enter:
regedit
    1.
    2. In the console that opens, navigate to the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook

(it could also be 15.0\Outlook in the end,
depending on Office version)
  1. Make sure you are in the path above
  2. Delete the subfolder called “Profiles”

Once done, we’ll need to remove the data files of the profile. Here is how:

    1. Right click on the Start button and select run
    2. Type in the following and press enter:
%localappdata%
  1. Then, continue to Microsoft\Outlook.
  2. Delete the contents of the Outlook folder in that location
    (which is C:\Users\your-user-name-here\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook)

Once done, run your Zinstall product to perform the transfer.

If you have already done a full transfer, you just need to re-run it, same way as before. It will automatically skip anything that is already there, and will just transfer what is missing (the Outlook profile in this case).
