Still using an old version of Quicken – 2017, 2013, 2010, even Quicken 2000 – that you bought outright, and want to keep using it on a new Windows 11 or Windows 10 computer? You are not alone, and it can be done. Here is how.
Old Quicken versions predate today’s subscription model – and reinstalling them on a new computer usually fails: the installer may not run on Windows 11, the activation servers for many old versions are long gone, and the install CDs (if you still have them) don’t include the patches the program needs.
The good news: if your old Quicken still runs on the old computer, it can keep running on the new one. The trick is not to reinstall it – it is to transfer the working, installed, activated copy itself.
The way to do it is with a transfer tool that moves installed programs, not just files – Zinstall WinWin:
That’s it!
Once the transfer is done, your old Quicken will be on the new computer – installed, activated and configured exactly as it was, with all your accounts and financial data in place. No installer, no activation servers, no patches needed.
And not just Quicken – this transfers your other apps, profiles, settings and files as well.
The new computer will feel just like home.
